The Ballard women's wrestling team competed in two tournaments over the weekend, demonstrating determination and growth against strong competition. On Friday, the Bombers participated in the Woodward-Granger Tournament, finishing eighth as a team. They followed up on Saturday with a trip to Newton for the Cardinal Classic, where they placed 11th.

Woodward-Granger Tournament

At Woodward-Granger, Evelyn Faubus delivered an exceptional performance in the 130-pound weight class, capturing first place with dominant victories in her semifinal and championship matches.  In the 105-pound bracket, Amelia Faubus wrestled to a hard-fought third-place finish, capping off her day with a commanding technical fall win.  Aaliyah Buck took fourth place in the 110-pound bracket, while Sadie Ruby secured fifth place in the 145-pound bracket.

Cardinal Classic Tournament

The Bombers continued their season at the Cardinal Classic, where they gained valuable experience in a challenging field.  Amelia Faubus earned seventh place in the 105-pound bracket, finishing with a fall victory in her final match.  Evelyn Faubus, wrestling at 135 pounds, placed fifth after a solid performance, including a win by fall to conclude her day.  Sadie Ruby also achieved a seventh-place finish in the 145-pound bracket, adding another victory to her weekend.

The Bombers return to action on Saturday, December 14, at the Des Moines Valley Tournament, beginning at 10:00 AM.
