Bombers Compete In Regional

WEBSTER CITY, IA - The Ballard women's golf team delivered a commendable performance at the regional tournament held at Brigg Woods Golf Course in Webster City.  With a strong showing from all team members, the Bombers secured an 11th-place finish out of a competitive field.

Leading the team was Chastyn Gering, who played a consistent game throughout the 18 holes. Gering's front nine featured scores of 4, 6, 5, 7, 6, 5, 5, 5, and 6 for a total of 49. She maintained her steady play on the back nine with scores of 5, 5, 7, 8, 4, 6, 5, 6, and 5, finishing with a 51. Her overall score of 100 earned her a 24th-place finish.

Madelyn Baltes also put forth a solid effort, starting with scores of 7, 6, 5, 8, 6, 7, 4, 8, and 4 for a front nine total of 55. On the back nine, she scored 3, 5, 8, 7, 4, 9, 6, 4, and 5, completing her round with a 51 and an overall score of 106, placing her 33rd.

Madison Maire showcased her skills with a front nine total of 51, scoring 5, 5, 4, 7, 7, 7, 3, 7, and 6. Her back nine included scores of 3, 6, 7, 8, 5, 7, 8, 6, and 8, giving her a total of 58. Maire finished with an overall score of 109, securing 41st place.

Claire Cleveland contributed with a front nine score of 57, recording 6, 6, 5, 8, 7, 6, 6, 5, and 8. Her back nine scores of 4, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 7, and 8 totaled 55, resulting in an overall score of 112 and a 46th-place finish.

Breanna Kruger posted scores of 7, 5, 5, 5, 8, 9, 6, 6, and 8 on the front nine for a total of 59. Her back nine included scores of 4, 5, 9, 8, 4, 7, 7, 8, and 4, totaling 56. Kruger finished with an overall score of 115, placing her 54th.

Piper Thompson rounded out the team with a front nine score of 69, including 8, 9, 7, 8, 7, 8, 5, 7, and 10. On the back nine, she scored 6, 6, 12, 9, 4, 7, 6, 5, and 10 for a total of 65, finishing with an overall score of 134 and placing 68th.

The Bombers finished 11th overall with a team score of 427.  The top three teams were Waverly-Shell Rock (362), Clear Lake (366), and MOC-Floyd Valley (368).
