Bombers Fall In Substate Final To Go-Hawks

WAVERLY, IA - The Ballard Bombers men's tennis team faced a tough challenge in the substate final against Waverly-Shell Rock, ultimately falling 5-0.  Despite their efforts, the Bombers were unable to overcome the strong play of the Go-Hawks.

In the first singles match, Emmett Miller battled against Benny Ramker but fell 6-1, 6-2.  Dawson Brekke faced Luca Myers in the second singles match and was defeated 6-0, 6-0. Isaiah Zeigler took on Matthew Judka in the third singles match, putting up a fight but ultimately losing 6-3, 6-1.

Rex Olsan had a competitive match against Luis Portillo in the fifth singles spot.  After a close first set, Olsan took the second set in a tiebreaker but was overpowered in the final set, losing 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 6-0.  Beau Warg rounded out the singles matches against Daniel Becker, with Warg falling 6-4, 6-1.

Despite the loss, the Bombers displayed determination and effort throughout the match. Their performance in the substate final caps a season of growth and competitive play, setting a foundation for future success.
