
HUXLEY, IA – The Ballard men's soccer team kicked off their season with a strong showing, battling to a 1-1 draw against Nevada before delivering an impressive 5-1 victory over Belmond-Klemme.
In their season opener against Nevada, both teams found the net early, with each scoring in the first half. The second half saw intense defensive efforts on both sides, resulting in a hard-fought draw.
Ballard responded in dominant fashion against Belmond-Klemme, breaking out offensively with a four-goal second half. Job Welton led the charge with a hat trick, powering the Bombers to their first win of the season.
With a 1-0-1 record, Ballard now turns its focus to its next challenge on the road. The Bombers will travel to face South Tama on Friday, April 4, at 5:30 PM, looking to keep their momentum going.
