Men's Golf Caps Stellar Season at State Tournament
Ballard Shoots A 608 Finishing Fifth

The Ballard men's golf team wrapped up a memorable season with a strong showing at the Class 3A State Golf Tournament, held at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. The Bombers battled through challenging conditions and elite competition to secure a 5th place team finish, carding rounds of 310 and 298 for a two-day total of 608 (+32).
Senior Brenden Wright led the charge for Ballard, showing veteran composure and clutch shot-making. After an opening-round 77, Wright rebounded with a flawless even-par 72 in Round 2 to finish tied for 13th overall at +5.
Freshman Jamin Colvin proved he was more than ready for the state stage, delivering rounds of 75 and 76 to post a two-day score of 151 (+7), tying for 21st place. His steady performance and poise set the tone for Ballard's underclassmen and offer a promising glimpse into the program's future.
Sophomore Parker Domino and junior Alex Weeks rounded out the top four scoring spots for the Bombers. Domino improved on his opening 77 with a solid 76 in the final round to finish at +9 (153). Weeks showed grit with a significant 7-stroke improvement on Day 2, bouncing back from an 81 to shoot a 74, finishing at +11 (155).
Senior Mason Gatchel and sophomore Riley Dingel each turned in consistent efforts, both shooting matching 81s in the opening round and 76s and 81s respectively on Day 2. Their contributions helped solidify Ballard's top-five team result in a stacked field.
