Owen Greco pitched 5 strong innings and Nicholas Schonhorst closed the game as the Bombers secured a 6-3 nonconference win over Knoxville at Nite Hawk Field on Wednesday evening. Greco, the starting pitcher for the Bombers, went 5.1 innings, striking out 6 and allowing three runs. Schonhorst took over in relief, striking out two and preventing any base runners.
Jake Oldenkamp had a perfect night at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a double, while Jacob Luster contributed two hits. Eli Rouse added to the Bombers' success with three steals.
With this win, the Bombers improve their record to 3-5 (1-2) for the season.
The Bombers will be back in action on Thursday, May 30, hosting ADM in a Raccoon River Conference matchup. The junior varsity game will start at 5:00 PM, followed by the varsity game.
