The Ballard baseball team experienced a tough loss in a high-scoring Raccoon River Conference game against Boone, falling 12-11 on Thursday night at Creasman Field in Boone.
Nicolas Schonhorst emerged as a standout performer for the Bombers, going 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBI. Stetson Kane also made significant contributions, going 3 for 3 with a home run and three RBI as well.
The game saw Owen Greco take the starting pitcher role for the Bombers, later relieved by Kane who delivered 3.2 innings on the mound and struck out 4 batters.
With this loss, the Bombers' season record stands at 2-4 (0-1).
Next up, the Bombers will be in action on Tuesday, May 28, as they hit the road to face Norwalk. The junior varsity game will kick off at 5:30 PM, followed by the varsity matchup.
