Bombers Finish Runner-Up At Leon Fox; Vance Champion

The women's cross country team finished as runner-ups at the Leon Fox Invitational in Perry on Thursday evening. The Bombers would score 41 team points. ADM would win the meet with 29 team points.

Ava Vance was the overall champion finishing in a time of 19:59. Brynn Wilson finished third and Ava Richardson finished 5th for the Bombers.

The Bombers are back in action on Thursday - October 5 when they compete in the Fort Dodge Meet. The junior varsity and varsity will race and the action starts at 4:30 PM.

Comments From Head Coach Scott Barth:

"Ava Vance took home the championship with a time of 19:59. She is running really well and her confidence is building. Brynn Wilson and Ava Richardson stepped up their performances running season PR's in times of 20:34 and 20:40 placing 3rd and 5th overall. The freshman trio of Kya Hermann, Raya Miller and Grace Grundmeyer continues to show steady progress placing 16th, 19th and 22nd overall in times of 21:31, 21:50 and 22:20. Raegan Loewe made her way back from a prolonged period of not feeling well, running a solid time of 23:02.

Out of JV Katie Tollefson and Harper Wendt also ran really good races with times of 22:46 and 23:04. We continued to miss the presence of Annika Larson who has been out with an injury. However, she is getting better and I think she will be back with us next week at Fort Dodge. That could add the boost we need to be at full strength and ready for the end of the season grind to the state meet."
