Coach Long is a 2021 graduate of Ballard High School. While in high school, Gage participated in cross country, wrestling and track. In high school wrestling, Gage was a 4-year varsity starter, 3-time state qualifier and 1 time state place winner.

After graduating high school, for his freshman year Gage attended and wrestled at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. He is currently enrolled at Iowa State University with a double major in Forestry and Agronomy.

During his free time, Gage enjoys being outdoors, running, and lifting weights. Camping, archery, hunting, and fishing are among his most favorite things to do.
