Coach Shaeffer is a 2004 graduate of Ballard.  He was fortunate enough to continue playing football, wrestling, and singing at Iowa Central and Simpson College; graduating from both schools in 2006 and 2008 with an Associates in General Studies and Bachelors in Communications/Sports Administration.  After doing some soul searching, Coach Shaeffer decided he wanted to get into education and went to Grand View University for his second B.A. in Secondary Education with an All Social Sciences endorsement graduating in December of 2010.  Caleb had some amazing learning opportunities and student teaching experiences that led him to a job at Ames Middle School, where he taught 7th grade Social Studies and coached football, wrestling, and track for seven years.  Seeking to continually improve and help lead; Caleb completed his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University in 2017 and took the 7-12 Dean of Students/Activities Director position in Cresco, Iowa at Crestwood High School in 2018 for two years, while his wife continued to teach at Ames Middle School.  That experience made him realize he wanted to get back to his wife and be a full time husband and work in Central Iowa.  Caleb feels blessed to be back in such a positive and loving place and couldn't be happier being where it has always felt like home.  He takes great pride in being a Bomber full time again and understands what a privilege it was to grow up in this community.  He looks forward to helping current and future Bombers create memories, achievements, and relationships that last a lifetime.  GO BOMBERS!
