Coach Riese grew up in Zearing, Iowa and attended high school at Colo-Nesco Jr/Sr High.  While at Colo-NESCO, Samantha was a multisport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, track and field, and softball.  During her time in high school, Samantha was a 4-year varsity volleyball starter, was a part of the state basketball tournament qualifying team her sophomore year, and qualified for state track in discus all 4 years of high school.  In softball, she was a varsity pinch hitter her 8th grade year and a 3-year varsity starter specializing in infield and hitting. Coach Riese held records at Colo-NESCO for season/career home runs, season/career slugging average, and season batting average percentage. 

 

After high school, Samantha attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa getting her degree in Music Education.  Since graduating college she has held several coaching positions in the following sports; volleyball, basketball, track and field, and softball.

 

Samantha is currently the K-5 Elementary Music and 5th Grade Band teacher at Ogden Elementary School and coaches middle school volleyball, middle school track and field, and is the assistant Director of the high school musical.
