The field events also saw remarkable achievements from Ballard athletes.  Chase Ihle soared to 6th place in the long jump with a distance of 20-4.25, marking a season best for him.  Chance Lande impressed in the 400m dash, clocking a personal record of 50.24 and securing 6th place.  The 4x400 M relay team consisting of Jameson Witt, Jakson Fleischmann, Eli Rouse, and Chance Lande shined bright, not only claiming 1st place but also setting a new school record with a remarkable time of 3:23.87, surpassing their own record from the previous year.  Despite no team scores being kept at this meet, Ballard's athletes left a lasting impression with their exceptional performances against schools from various conferences around the metro.

Comments From Men's Head Coach Darren Herrold:

"Both the men's and women's coaches are extremely pleased with our effort at the Jim Duncan Relays Saturday.  This meet brings together 4 of the best conferences in the state to let our athletes compete against extremely tough and talented competition.  Several season best times and PR times were set.  The Ballard men's relay teams had an awesome day.  Our Sprint Medley relay and 4x400 relay  claimed first place.  To earn first at a meet of this caliber is a testament to their work ethic and their flat out desire to always give 100% in a competition.  The women that competed individually also represented Ballard in outstanding fashion.  Both the men and women that competed were happy with their results, but they also know that our season is not yet done, and they know what will be required as our season progresses."

The Bombers return to the field on Tuesday, April 16, as they host the Bomber Relays. The event kicks off at 4:30 PM.
