Coach Skurdal grew up in Adel where she grew up with her mother as the high school cheer coach from the time she was in 1st grade.  She cheered throughout middle school, high school, All-Stars, and throughout college on an athletic scholarship for cheerleading. 

 
During high school, Liz was given the honor of participating in Iowa Honor Squad, Iowa Goal-Setter All-Stars, and was selected as an All-American cheerleader during her time as a high school cheerleader.  Additionally, she was the recipient of the Iowa Cheer Coaches Association's college scholarship.  
 
During college and after, Liz instructed other schools by doing private cheer camps as well as provided choreography for many teams.  
 
Liz is the assistant football and competition cheer coach for Ballard High School.  Liz also serves as the winter cheer co-coach.  She has had cheerleaders participate in All-State, Honor Squad, Shrine Bowl, and various competitions where they consistently place in the top four teams.  Most recently, the Ballard Cheerleaders won 1st place in both the cheer/dance and stunt group divisions as well as overall Grand Champions in the Iowa Cheer Finals competition in November 2022. 
 
During the day, Liz works as a Student and Family Advocate in a nearby school district and resides in Huxley, Iowa with her husband and six children.
